By Car From the North
Take I-95 South to R.I. Exit 9
(a left-lane exit onto Rte. 4 South). Follow Rte. 4
to Rte. 1 South until you reach Rte. 138 West, just past the Holiday Inn. (Don’t take the first Rte. 138 exit—this would take you east to Newport.) Travel approximately 4 miles on Rte. 138; URI will be on the right. Come through the main entrance on Upper College Road and stop at the Visitors Center (on the right) for a parking permit. Take Campus Ave to Lower College Road. Turn right onto Lower College Road and the Union will be at the end of the circle. 45 Minute Parking is available behind the Union and additional parking is across the street.

By Car From the South
Take I-95 North to R.I. Exit 3A
to Rte. 138 East. URI is about 7 miles down Rte. 138, on the left. Come through the main entrance on Upper College Road and stop at the Visitors Center (on the right) for a parking permit. Take Campus Ave to Lower College Road. Turn right onto Lower College Road and the Union will be at the end of the circle. 45 Minute Parking is available behind the Union and additional parking is located across the street.

URI Visitor's Center is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., and at other times by special arrangement. If you have special needs, please alert the Visitor's Center by calling 401-874-2133.


By Bus
Service from Providence to URI's Kingston Campus, Memorial Union is provided by (RIPTA) Rhode Island Public Transportation Authority. route 66, for more info-(401-781-9400).

By Train
Amtrak service along the Northeast Corridor includes Kingston Station, about 2 miles from the URI campus. For information on fares and schedules, call 800-872-7245.

By Plane
T.F. Green State Airport is about 20 miles from
URI. Bus transportation and car rentals are
available at the airport.
